Urban Mood

Etsy is a treasure trove of talented and inclusive artists.  I have purchased some amazing things from there and I'm always looking for new plus size options.  Urban Mood is one of those shops.  It goes up to size 3X BUT can also be customized at no extra charge.  Their styles focus on flowy dresses and tunics, but also include interestingly cut jackets and vest.  The prices run $50-120, which is not bad considering customization is included.  Here are my favorite styles:

Changes

Things are changing.  In the last year, my life has had some major twists; I closed Domino Dollhouse, had a 2nd daughter, and then moved to Southern Orange County.  As we are starting to adjust to our new normal, I realized how much of my focus has changed.  While I still have a desire to keep up with my own aesthetic, add in milestones - baby clothing - parks - re-decorating and Chubble Bubble no longer embodies my life.  I want to share more about what my days are currently like and thus, BRXTRMN was born.  Between exploring our new home turf, raising 2 daughters, and navigating plus size motherhood, I have a more varied list of topics these days.  Fashion still holds a huge place in my heart, so do not expect it to go away, but hopefully I can share more of me in the days to come. Thank you for all your support,
XXOO,
Tracy

Love in a Void

I knew when I saw this body chain from Ready to Stare, I had to have it.  Made to measure in black iridescent chain, it's an amazing and surprisingly comfortable addition to any look.  Just days later, Zelie for She put up the dress and I knew they belonged together.  At 7 1/2 months pregnant, here's a little proof that maternity ensembles do NOT have to be what you think.  Interesting side note: the chain doubles as a durable and mesmerizing toddler toy!

Black Cat

Halloween is one of my favorite times of year. A lot of wonderful things in my life have happened around this holiday.  For instance, I met and then married my husband (a total of 14 years together).  The year following our wedding, we purchased our home.  So it goes beyond the obvious love of dressing up.  This year, at 7 months pregnant, I needed a costume that was both gorgeous and comfortable.  I've been gathering some AMAZING pieces over the last few months, so I was very excited to put this combo together.  This Zelie for She dress (which I also purchased in gray) is so incredible…sexy, comfortable, and with POCKETS!

Outfit Details:
Dress - Zelie for She (worn without the belt)
Harness - Cirque Apparel (custom sizing, great service!!)
Fringe Duster - UNIF
Mask - H&M (last year)
Shoes - Gentle Soles

My daughter's costume was a dramatic roller coaster (it arrived the DAY OF instead of weeks before like it was supposed to), but she was too adorable not to share.  A League of Their Own was one of my favorite movies growing up and this costume was just perfect.

What were you for Halloween this year? Share pics in the comments section!

Iron Moon

I have been OBSESSED with Chubby Cartwheels's tie dye fabric body suit since I laid eyes on it, but at 6 months pregnant, a one piece is a difficult to wear.  Luckily, she was able to create her gorgeous Khloe Dress for me in the same fabric!  The fit is BEYOND perfect and she really does make the most amazing pieces.  Thank you, Shawna for always making me gorgeous things!!  Now, onto the pictures with shopping details.

Domino Dollhouse Closing

Hello Dolls,

It comes with a heavy heart that I have to announce that Domino Dollhouse will be going on an indefinite hiatus starting this November.  For the time being, I will be selling the current stock down and closing the website by November of 2015.  Domino Dollhouse has been a labor of love for almost 5 years but now I will be focusing on my growing family.  It is unclear if I will return in the same capacity, but I hope that it would be possible some time down the road.  I want to take this time to thank the people who have helped me run and create Domino Dollhouse, those who have patronized Domino Dollhouse, and the unwavering support of my dolls.

I strongly suggest that those with store credit or gift certificates please use them within the next few months, as they will no longer be valid after November of 2015.  I will still be around in a personal capacity on my blog and I hope that some of you will continue to follow me there to see the next part of my journey.

Feel free to send any questions my way at dominodollhouse@gmail.com.  Thanks again to you all for your continued support.

Sincerely,
Tracy

Dust Hymn

I pretty much always wear head to toe black.  But for Easter this year, I decided to pull out this Rachel Pally lilac number to embrace the holiday's pastel theme.  It's still odd to see myself in light colors, but I LOVE this kaftan.

Domino Dollhouse

So as most of you are aware, I own and design for Domino Dollhouse.  I have always been interested in alternative fashion.  The fact that I can have a plus size exclusive boutique that caters to the girl I am, have been, and will be fills my heart with joy.  When I'm buying for the shop, I imagine a group of girls, not unlike my own friends, shopping together.  Each are different…one loves witches while the other is obsessed with kittens and another is gaga over fruit prints.  They are all friends, but all have their own distinct interests and personal styles.  Of course, I'm one of these women and I have my own favorites in my shop, now even more than ever!  Here are my favorite picks from my shop:

What are your favorite items in the store?  What would you like to see more of?  I'd LOVE to hear it in the comments below.

Song to the Siren

This past weekend, my husband and I celebrated Valentine's Day with a studio rental on the beach.  Since it was a brisk beach season (aka our "winter") I wanted a lovely cover up that also provided some protection, all while not covering up too much.  I'd been eyeing this AMAZING Khloe Dress from Chubby Cartwheels and this was the PERFECT occasion.  Shawna created the most amazing piece for a winter beach look and I was in LOVE.  Here are some snaps from the day:

Celebrating Nothing

While visiting family in Berkley, I got to take some of my new Science/Vision Collection pieces on a test run.  I wore a version of this all weekend and nothing only did I love the looks, I was amazingly comfortable.  The Cloak Cardigan was my dream piece, layering it over everything.  The Thigh High Leggings are a PERFECT fit and the stretch suede fits the legs PERFECTLY…no baggy ankles!  Here are some photos of my favorite look.

Necklace + Ring: All Saints
Shoes: Crocs

And from now until 12/1/14, Domino Dollhouse is having a sale! Check the flyer for details:
